September 2010 saw the first Berlin Music Week (BMW). Several major players of the city‘s music business came together under this brandname to draw national and international attention to the creativity and diversity of the local music scene. Main location of BMW was the recently closed Tempelhof Airport, which held the well-known music tradefair Popkomm, the 2-day Berlinfestival and the congress AllTogetherNow. The Berlin Clubcommission, the association of Berlin‘s clubs and party-operators, added two projects to BMW, the established Berlin Clubnacht (clubnight) and the week-long ClubSpreeBerlin. For both these events Bjoern was asked by the Clubcommission to coordinate the programme and create content.
Bjoern managed to take 2010‘s clubnight to new heights, with a (world)record participation of 44 clubs and over 100 floors, connected by a free busshuttle. Several well-knotwn locations, like Tresor, White Trash, Lido and SO36 were part of the deal, which allowed guests to visit all 44 clubs for just 12 Euro. Apart from many local DJs and musicians, some clubs took advantage of inviting artists from this year‘s guest country India. |
